Think Your Interview Went Poorly? At least you aren't this guy...
by Tim Walker
Guy Goma could have been any one of us. A recent grad showed up at a prospective employer for a job interview. He was probably a little nervous. But I'm not sure any amount of preparation could have gotten him ready what happened.
According to the website Mental Floss, Goma was interviewing for an IT job at the BBC. When he got there, producers mistook him for an interview subject and whisked him off to the studio where he was promptly put on live TV to talk about something he know pretty much nothing about.
What ensues is, well, pretty awkward.
OK, so, maybe this is something that couldn't have happened to anyone. What's the lesson here, though? Always be prepared for your interview? Dress for the job you want, not the job you have? Obviously you can't prepare for everything. Maybe that's the point. Sometimes you've just got to roll with the punches. Sometimes the unexpected happens. And sometimes, no matter how prepared you are, things just don't work out.
They didn't for Guy. He wasn't offered a job, but did auction his shirt for charity.
