Take it from Zig: Motivate yourself in 2013!
by Tim Walker
Renowned motivational speaker, author and philosopher Zig Ziglar helped millions of people achieve their goals until his passing in November of 2012. But his legacy is sure to live on as people turn the page on 2012 and look toward the new year.
In honor of Ziglar's legacy, here are some of our favorite quotes:
"It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through. "
"Building a better you is the first step to building a better America."
Whether it's the fiscal cliff, debt ceiling or our everyday lives. Life is full of complications and problems that make it enticing to just stay in bed each morning! However, it's up to us to throw the covers off, grab a cup of coffee and do the little things to improve our lives.
"If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want."
"Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the "gotta have it" scale."
"I believe that being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can't truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles."
"People who have good relationships at home are more effective in the marketplace."
We all love money right? It's what makes our businesses successful. As Ziglar points out, it's one of those things that we "gotta have." But our business and financial success starts from within. If we treat the things that are really important in life with care, then everything else will follow. People who say money doesn't buy happiness are right. But the money isn't the problem, it's where you draw your joy from that makes the difference. In 2013, we resolve to help others first. Then the rest will fall into place.
"Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will."
"Remember that failure is an event, not a person."
"A lot of people quit looking for work as soon as they find a job."
Here at M Force, we're all recruiters at heart. We talk with people each and every day and know what they go through during their search for a new career. We get to see the entire process unfold, from the first call to the first day at work. The hard work is never over and we deal with failure every day. A positive attitude, hard work and perseverance even after we've achieved success goes a long way!
"I've always taught that a poor economy is the best opportunity for salespeople because the naysayers and grumblers have already given up, leaving more territory, more opportunities to be successful than in a good economy when virtually all salespeople are out there, giving it their best."
"Statistics suggest that when customers complain, business owners and managers ought to get excited about it. The complaining customer represents a huge opportunity for more business. "
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."
Motivation is something you've got to work at every day. You could say we all need some motivation to be motivated! Whether it's a complaint from a customer, a bad economy or a bump in a road, every bit of adversity should be a motivating factor that pushes us toward our goals. If that's the case, then there's no reason 2013 can't be better than 2012!
Wishing you success in the New Year,
