Remembering to be Grateful
By Taylor Mullins
This time of year always gives me a chance to slow down and look back on all that I have to be thankful for. 2014 has been quite a ride. My wife and I found out we are expecting twins in February, so we are in a mad dash to get everything just right for their big arrival. We couldn’t be more excited...or scared, but what a wonderful experience none the less!
Work has been a blessing too. We've had lots of great jobs, and even better candidates to fill them. As a recruiter for M Force this past year, I have grown in so many ways. Too often I get in a big hurry in life and forget we recruiters have the opportunity to change people’s lives. There are a couple of candidates that come to mind who I have grown particularly close to. They have shared their ups and downs, child birth, graduations, and most importantly their gratefulness for the stability a new job has brought them. In this line of work, we affect people’s lives daily. We all go through life’s trials and tribulations, and we all need a hand sometimes. But the funny thing is we never always know where that hand is going to come from.
It’s always easier said than done, but try to remember that we all have an effect on people every day. It's up to you what that impression will be, good or bad. Take advantage of those opportunities ahead and leave a lasting difference that will bless all those around you.
At the end of the day, I know I’m helping people change their lives, as cliché as that may sound. It's easy to overlook that, but the holiday season always brings me back and reminds me that what we do as recruiters truly matters.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, and the New Year ahead is your best one yet.
