GE has started testing the world's largest jet engine. The new engine is 11ft. in diameter. According to GE (we assumed they measured) that's big enough for to fit Shaquille O'Neil to fit inside with Kobe Bryant sitting on his shoulders. We assume however, that Kobe has better things to do in retirement.
Even cooler, the new engine is possible thanks to some 3D printed fuel nozels made from ceramic matrix composites that can withstand temperatures of 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit. We can assume it gets pretty hot inside the world's largest jet engine.
Enough talk though, let's watch this puppy in action!
