Easy Ways to Create Christmas Cheer in Your Office
by Sydney Tindell
It's December! That means it’s time to get ready for the holidays! There’s nothing I love more than putting up my Christmas tree, stringing lights outside and my putting my adorable little village on display.
If you're like me, the Christmas spirit doesn't stay confined to your home. Your office is also a great place to spread some cheer! Here at M Force, we all participate in a Secret Santa. We draw names, and each week give a small gift to one of our coworkers. It's a great way to do something special and add some cheer to the work week.
You could also think about participating in a charity toy donation program. You've probably seen them at the mall or other large stores. Pick out a handful and spend your lunch break buying gifts for children in need!
Looking to boost productivity during the final weeks of the year? Try putting on some music! Familiar songs and those without words have been shown to help with mood and productivity.
Food is always good too. In fact, some holiday treats like gingerbread can actually reduce stress (I know, right!?!?)
When it comes to decorating, it’s not always easy when you work in a cubicle or other small space. Here are a few simple ideas that could really cheer up your work space!
You could spice up the office hand sanitizer for the holidays by making the santa-tizer out of red vinyl, black vinyl, and gold glitter! Small Christmas trees are usually sold at any major retailer and I’m sure there’s at least one person in the office with some extra ornaments they would be happy to lend! There’s bound to be some empty wall space at any office that can be put to good use.
You could also hang stockings or candy canes from the tiles on the ceiling! My personal favorite is the fireplace Christmas computer (pictured below). You could even hold a cubicle decorating contest with your coworkers! You would need to set a price limit on how much to spend on décor, and ask your boss of course.

Lastly, if you’re decorating your cubicle on a budget, my suggestion would be to visit your local dollar store. They’re guaranteed to have some affordable little decorations and lights that won’t break the bank.
